Woo Hoo - a Robot on Mars
Maybe I just don’t get it. But here’s what I’ve seen.
NASA builds a robot that goes up to mars.
It scratches a little trench in the dust.
Then they let it sit there for 5 F-ing days looking at the trench.
A few little ice crystals evaporate.
And I’m supposed to be shitting myself with excitement?!!!
I saw this blog post over on Dealios (http://dealios.wordpress.com/2008/06/20/can-you-see-the-ice/) talking about it.
Here’s a link to the original article on Yahoo: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080620/ap_on_sc/phoenix_mars
Look I’m not TOTALLY against sending robots to Mars. It’s just that if they are going to impress me, then the robot is going to have to do more than just find ice.
It needs to also find a bottle of Jose Quervo and some limes. Take that ice, blend it all up and serve those Martians a Margarita in a salt-rimmed fish bowl glass.
THAT’S how you get more government funding <hiccup>.
These days it can be – and quick. Ning.com started up back in 2004 with a free social networking platform that anyone can use and customize.
